Improving Behavior – Presented by Jane Russenberger & Dr. David Roberts

Making the most of Nurture. Covering genetic improvement of noise fear, emotional
resilience, and thunder reaction and impact of early socialization

In collaboration with multiple specialists, Jane has studied and scored aspects of behavior on thousands of potential guide dogs during her 38 years of employment at two guide dog organizations.  Jane has recently retired from 34 years as Director of Canine Development, Breeding. and Genetics at Guiding Eyes for the Blind where she oversaw production and improving approaches for early socialization and puppy raising of about 450 Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd puppies each year.  Now, as a team member and co-founder of the International Working Dog Registry (IWDR), Jane continues her passion for helping working dog organizations produce healthier, more temperamentally suited dogs.
