During that time\, she also received a PhD\, studying the dog as a natural animal model for human trauma. She is currently working as a criticalist at Four Seasons Veterinary Specialists and as an adjunct instructor at CSU. She is active in the Veterinary Committee on Trauma and directs the Veterinary Advanced Trauma Life Support (VetATLS) course.\n\n\nDr. Kelly Hall\, DVM\n\n\nDr. Kelly Hall is a tenured Professor at Colorado State University and the Medical Director of the Small Animal Specialty Hospital. Dr. Hall completed much of her veterinary training at the University of Minnesota (DVM\, '98; DACVECC\, '08; MS Clinical Research\, '13) and was clinical faculty there for 14 years. Dr. Hall has a passion for improving trauma patient care through education and collaborative clinical and translational research. She is the Executive Director of the ACVECC Veterinary Committee on Trauma (VetCOT) which leverages a multi-disciplinary and multi- institutional approach to improving trauma patient care (vetcot.org). The VetCOT international Veterinary Trauma Center network established a veterinary trauma patient registry that has prospectively captured data on > 74\,000 canine and feline cases and resulted in over 30 publications and growing (May 2025). An additional goal of the initiative is to utilize naturally occurring canine trauma as an efficient and applicable model for the evaluation of new drugs\, devices or interventions on the continuum of medical advancement from bench to beside. Dr. Hall considers herself an educator\, coach\, clinical researcher\, leader\, and strong collaborator. Primary drivers of Dr. Hall’s philosophy\, whether on the clinic floor\, on the basketball court\, in the classroom\, or advancing research collaborations include Angela Duckworth’s research on “grit”\, Carol Dweck’s research on “growth mindset” and John Wooden’s “pyramid of success”.\n\n\nDr. Kelly Mann\nDr. Kelly Mann is the Vice President of Veterinary Solutions\, Mantel Technologies in Fort Collins\, Colorado\, an affiliate faculty member at Colorado State University\, and the President/Executive Director of the International Working Dog Association. He has decades of service and leadership experience in clinical veterinary medicine and veterinary research\, especially with programs and projects directly applicable to US and allied military working dogs. Dr. Mann received his Bachelor of Science in 1986 from Georgia College\, graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and completed a Master of Science in Veterinary Parasitology. He joined the US Army Veterinary Corps in 1993 and retired at the rank of Colonel in 2013. During his military career\, Dr. Mann was the Director of the LTC Daniel E. Holland Military Working Dog Hospital and served in specialized training and leadership positions focused on military working dog medical care in Department of Defense\, NATO and allied programs. He received a MS in Radiological Health Sciences from CSU\, is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology\, and earned a Master of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. Dr. Mann is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit and recipient of the Army Surgeon General's 9A Proficiency Designator for professional excellence. His career vision is to support world-class research at the highest level in his profession\, tempered by compassion for the animals and people involved\, and guided by ethical consideration for the health and welfare of each animal. Dr. Mann has a passion for all working dogs and the people they serve.
