About This Discussion Group:
This meetup will allow industry experts and breeding program managers for working dog programs to discuss current issues in a professional forum. Sessions aim to provide a collaborative environment within which concerns and options may be explored, with the goals of promoting best breeding practice and positive program outcomes while also preparing for the rapidly-expanding needs of working dog programs worldwide.
Session Plan:
Discussion will be prompted by the needs of the attending group. The following points of interest have been highlighted as a starting point:
- How to reach decision makers
- Pros (and cons) of collaborating and sharing genetic material among programs, and how to get there
- Selection of Young Breeding Dogs and Deciding Which Dogs to Breed
- Encouraging an informal network for Breeding Managers
- Where do we go from here?
