About This Discussion Group:

This meetup will allow industry experts and breeding program managers for working dog programs to discuss current issues in a professional forum. Sessions aim to provide a collaborative environment within which concerns and options may be explored, with the goals of promoting best breeding practice and positive program outcomes while also preparing for the rapidly-expanding needs of working dog programs worldwide.

Session Plan:

Discussion will be prompted by the needs of the attending group. The following points of interest have been highlighted as a starting point:

1. How to reach decision makers
2. Pros (and cons) of collaborating and sharing genetic material among programs, and how to get there
3. Selection of Young Breeding Dogs and Deciding Which Dogs to Breed
4. Encouraging an informal network for Breeding Managers
5. Where do we go from here?
